Frequently Asked Questions

How long are sessions?

Your treatment plan is individualized so that it fits your needs and goals. Apart from your initial session which will be one hour, follow-up sessions can either be 45 or 60 minutes long, with most people choosing to have sessions one time per week.

How many sessions will I have?

The number of sessions you have depends on your diagnosis, needs, and goals. Many people choose to attend between 12-20 sessions and notice significant differences during that time, with other individuals opting for fewer sessions or longer periods of treatment. Your progress and goals are assessed during each session to help determine when you are ready to take a pause from treatment.

Are you seeing patients through telehealth?

REACH Counseling Center wants to provide the most convenient, safest and most effective form of therapy for each individual. Most sessions are currently offered via telehealth. There are also limited in-person sessions available in the Brookline, Massachusetts office. Fees for services are the same for telehealth and in-person sessions.

What happens before my first session?

Before your first session you will be asked to fill out and return paperwork through REACH's confidential client portal. This will allow your paperwork to be reviewed prior to your first session.

I still have some questions - Can I reach out before scheduling an initial session?

Absolutely! It can be difficult making the decision to start with a therapy provider, and it's important you have an opportunity to ask any questions you may still have. You are encouraged to reach out for a free 15-minute consultation to see if REACH Counseling Center would be a good fit for you. I look forward to hearing from you!
